If you would like to partner with us to support the Families Indaba, please get in touch
The Indaba portfolio is responsible for the full preparation of SAPPIN’s annual Families Indaba. The inaugural event is taking place on 26 & 27 October 2022. Tasks include fund raising, event design and support of our Marketing and Communications plan for the preparation of a unique, experiential and impactful Indaba.
The annual Families Indaba seeks to create a platform to share and learn from best practice parenting work and advocate for government and funders to support parenting as a key element of all education and violence-prevention strategies in South Africa.
Two Lilies Foundation
Research is showing that good mental health during the early years is critical to assuring a person’s lifelong healthy development. (Here at Two Lilies we call that BLOOMING!) Consistent, responsive, and sensitive care from the adults in young children’s lives turns out to be the key. That’s why The Two Lilies Fund strives to shine a spotlight on model projects—in under-resourced parts of the world—that are designed to strengthen the social and emotional development of young children and their caregivers. The Two Lilies Fund also supports a range of early childhood leadership development efforts around the globe—such as higher education opportunities and learning collaborative projects—with the hope that countries will orient the educational and social service systems towards the goal of improving the quality of life during children’s youngest years.
UNICEF
UNICEF works in over 190 countries and territories to save children’s lives, to defend their rights, and to help them fulfil their potential, from early childhood through adolescence. And we never give up.
World Childhood
Childhood works to protect children from violence and sexual abuse. We provide support to local organizations that are developing new and innovative methods to help vulnerable children and families. We also work actively to strengthen the quality and dissemination of tested models that reach children and families who have not previously received the support they need. With relatively modest investments, combined with closed dialogue and support, Childhood can serve as an incubator and help new ideas and organisations to grow and become sustainable.
The Jim Joel Fund
Operating in South Africa under the name, the Jim Joel Fund, the Trustees of The Childwick Trust realised early on in South Africa’s transition to democracy that in order to mitigate against long term cycles of poverty, poor educational achievement, ill health, inequality and other socio-economic challenges, it needed to invest in the lives of very young children. The Trustees believe that this is where the foundation for future well-being, and the future of South Africa, is established.
